Awkwafina
American musician and actor Awkwafina made her debut with humorous rap tracks that tackled sexuality and racial identities with a an incisive and humorous perspective, before broadening her presence to Hollywood. Born Nora Lum to Chinese and Korean immigrants in Forest Hills Queens her first musical experience came through the trumpet. Later, she began hip-hop and classical training. As a student, she majored in journalism and women's studies in college even studying Mandarin in Beijing for a short time. She didn't start focusing on music until she graduated. The song My Vag, a response track to Mickey Avalon's My Dick gained viral popularity across the Internet in 2012. It eventually made it in her album Yellow Ranger released in 2014. Other viral hits included the queef, a body positive song, as well as the winking NYC Bitchehome tour, which cost $. The track also appeared as part of Awkwafina's NYC Travel Guide, which was published in 2015. She decided to pursue acting careers following her completion of two ventures as a musician and author. The actress has been in films including Neighbors 2 Storks, and Bad Rap. In 2018 she scored breakout roles in a handful of famous films such as Dude Ocean's 8, and Crazy Rich Asians. She released the EP,"In Fina We Trust in June of the year.
